New EV Suits
Want to stand out from others in the New Tholian missions or while taking a stroll outside DS9, well now you can. Newly arrived in the C Store are EV suits.
Based in the design seen in Star Trek: First Contact, DS9 and Voyager the suits will be instantly recognisable to Trek fans. But in addition to looks they also come with the following Specs;
+30.5 Physical Damage Resistance
+30.5 Kinetic Damage Resistance
+5% Energy Damage
+5.1 Energy Damage Resistance
+15.2 Radiation Damage Resistance
+30.5 Energy Damage Resistance
+30.5 Radiation Damage Resistance
+30.5 Toxic Damage Resistance
+15.2 Fire Damage Resistance
+15.2 Cold Resistance
The Specs are the same for both factions, but remember its a Character unlock that can be traded or sold on the Exchange. If you discard, sell, trade or use a Federation Combat Environmental Suit, you will NOT be able to claim a free replacement from the C-Store. So if you have three Characters you need to buy them a suit each. At 700 Zen each that’s an expensive outlay.
Cryptic release a “State of the Game” update .
Daniel Stahl ,Executive Producer Star Trek Online, has released a view of how the game is looking at the moment post season 6. We picked out a few of his comments you may find interesting.
Firstly for Foundry authors there was this interesting nugget;
“Season 6 also introduces some improvements for our Foundry. The QA team is working diligently as they continue to sort through some specific bugs with previously existing missions. Once those bugs are sorted through, we will then open up the editor – as of today, we have turned on the ability to play existing, republished missions.
In addition to new Foundry features, we will also be diving into the Foundry Spotlight feature. We expect this feature to go live, along with the ability to add standard rewards to Foundry Spotlight missions, in the near future, well before Season 7 “
They are also be looking into improving the PvE Queue UI to make it clearer what types of missions are available, and what types of rewards they can offer. This also includes looking into more missions to award Fleet Marks.
Additionally we can see that Season 7 is Scheduled to be released towards the end of this year, coupled with an introduction of a new Sector along with the continuation of one of the primary storylines.
Finally more items will be added into future Duty Officer Packs, similar to the Jem’ Hadar Ship in the last pack. What these will be I guess we will have to wait and find out.
Fleet mission news
From time to time, special projects become available for fleets. these projects unlock new features to give your starbase more crew, more customization, and more recognizable features. Be quick, though – when a special project becomes available, it will only be available for a limited time. You must start the project before the end of the feature. Once you’ve started the project, though, you can keep working on it until it’s finished, even if the special event ends – but remember, you can only work on one special project at a time.
A new project “Interior Designer” has been added. Upon completion of this special project, decorations will be added to your Starbase’s interior. Plants, consoles, and panels will be made available for Federation Starbases, and statues and a special symbol will be made available for Klingon Starbases. This special project will be available around 10AM Pacific time/6pm Uk time on July 26, 2012, until around 10AM pacific/6pm Uk on August 9, 2012.
